Who are Bramley & Gage?We are a small family business focussed on making great tasting liqueurs.
Edward Bramley Kain and Penelope Gage started in the kitchen of their South Devon fruit farm with strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant liqueurs following a 'maceration' method traditional in France. It was a great opportunity to experiment and with the abundance of sloes in the hedges it wasn't long before Bramley's Sloe Gin made it onto the shelves of local stores. After 10 years of farming soft fruit and making fruit liqieurs Edward and Penelope sold the farm and moved into a dedicated building with a small bottling line and larger scale facilities.
Now 20 years on son Michael and daughter Felicity run the business, still making the liqueurs in exactly the same way - in small batches giving the freshest flavours possible. |
Our PhilosophyBramley and Gage make each of their liqueurs taste as true to the original fruit as possible.
We only use whole fruit, not concentrates or purees We don't use preservatives (except the alcohol) We don't use colourings
Organic Much of the fruit we use is picked wild from hedgerows and doesn't see pesticides, fertilisers or other nasties.. Getting certification for these fruit can be hard. Often organic ingredients are grown many thousands of miles away - any benefit is lost in the long distance travelled. If we can source organically and locally then we do.
