Who are Bramley & Gage?

Who are Bramley & Gage?

We are a small family business focussed on making great tasting liqueurs.

Edward Bramley Kain and Penelope Gage started in the kitchen of their South Devon fruit farm with strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant liqueurs following a 'maceration' method traditional in France. It was a great opportunity to experiment and with the abundance of sloes in the hedges it wasn't long before Bramley's Sloe Gin made it onto the shelves of local stores. After 10 years of farming soft fruit and making fruit liqieurs Edward and Penelope sold the farm and moved into a dedicated building with a small bottling line and larger scale facilities.

Now 20 years on son Michael and daughter Felicity run the business, still making the liqueurs in exactly the same way - in small batches giving the freshest flavours possible.

Our Philosophy

Bramley and Gage make each of their liqueurs taste as true to the original fruit as possible.

We only use whole fruit, not concentrates or purees
We don't use preservatives (except the alcohol)
We don't use colourings

Awards in 2009

Independent awards are one of the best ways of identifying quality products, and in 2009 we are delighted to have received more than ever. Awards recognise excellence and innovation in the alcoholic drinks industry with the entries judged by a panel of independent industry experts. Each product is judged equally, allowing small producers to be compared alongside established brands. Among other things judges are looking for excellence in taste, aroma, appearance, packaging, value for money and innovation.
